It was our first visit the Serai @ Pavilion KL, but not our first visit to the Serai chain of restaurants, having visited its outlet at Paradigm and Life Centre. And did you know the man behind Serai also owns the popular Jibby and Co.?
Since they've opened a new outlet at KL's premier shopping mall, why not we give them a visit.
what we had: Local Malay dishes are their specialty. You're able to choose their set meal, or order your dishes individually. We opted for the former. What we had (starting from Photo 1): Serai Iced Tea (RM12); Nasi Ambang (RM20); Nasi Kerabu served with ayam percik (RM22); Serai Platter (RM25); Berry Pavlova (RM15.90/slice) and Pandan Banana Fritters (RM13).
The portion is big so think twice if you want to order your appetisers.
price: We received comments on Instagram saying that the nasi ambang and nasi kerabu cost less than RM10 at the pasar malam or elsewhere. So you be the judge of the price. After all, do remember this is Pavilion. *wink*
ambience: white and clean interior; it's as if you're walking inside a huge bungalow located at some elite neighbourhood.
service: Very friendly! Two different staff came just to check on us and asking how's the food. Even when we had some requests, they still serve with a smile!
